As  a young man, Chef English spent a lot of time with his grandmother in and outside of the home. At her church, she was the head cook for the kitchen. When he accompanied her to church, which was quite often, he would take delight in watching her glide around the kitchen stirring and tasting, adding a pinch of this and a teaspoon of that. At this point, his love for consuming the food, far outweighed his desire to prepare it. As he grew, he developed a pallet that deserved to be explored. Following in his grandmother’s food steps, Chef English was born.

Chef English has hosted a segment on his Instagram page called “We Cook Wednesdays.” During this segment, Chef takes a dish suggestion from one of his followers, and uses his ingenuity to create his own rendition of the dish. He enjoys the challenge of creating something new from something so mundane. As a chef, English does not enjoy monotoned flavors. He believes that food needs a voice and flavor is the sound. Being granted the opportunity to create a dish that fits your personal taste is not only his talent, but also his passion.
